What is said in the Quran and Hadith about rain?

After the scorching heat of summer, who doesn't love the cool breeze of rain? Rain brings a sense of relief to the hot earth.

Allah Almighty says in the Holy Quran, "You see the earth lifeless. Then when We send down water upon it, it springs into life and swells, and produces pairs of every kind of green vegetation, adorned with beauty." (Surah Hajj, verse 5)

We have a lot of writings in front of us, in the poems of poets, stories of writers, novels of novelists, on the subject of rain. The effect of rain has touched every heart more or less. When we look at the pages of Sirat, we see that the effect of rain is also in the life of our beloved Prophet (PBUH).

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) also enjoyed the rain. He got wet in the rain. It was narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: Once we were with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). Then it rained on us. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) removed some of his clothes so that the rain would fall on him.

We said, "O Messenger of Allah! Why did you do this?" He said, "Because the rain has just come from its Lord." (Muslim 898)

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to seek blessings during rain. It was narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saw rain, he would say, اللَّهُمَّ صَيِّبًا نَافِعًا

Pronunciation: 'Allahumma Sayyibaan Nafi'ah'

Meaning: 'O Allah! Send down beneficial rain in torrents' (Sahih Bukhari).

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to pray more during the rain, because Allah Almighty accepts prayers during the rain.

Hazrat Sahl bin Saad (RA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Two supplications are never rejected: the supplication made during the call to prayer and the supplication made during the rain." (Abu Dawud, 2540)
